Exosome therapy

What to ask a provider about an exosome product

Questions to ask any provider about an exosome product: where it comes from, how donors are screened, what paperwork exists, and when you get the total.

Exosome therapy is new to many people, and the products behind it vary from one provider to the next. A short list of questions makes the choice easier. This article gives you that list, along with the answers at GIOSTAR in Henderson, so you have something to compare against.

If you are new to the topic, start with what exosome therapy is.

Question 1: Where do the exosomes come from?

Exosomes are tiny particles that cells release to carry signals to other cells. Every exosome product starts with a source cell, so the first question is which one.

Ask what type of cell the exosomes come from and whether that material comes from donors. At GIOSTAR, the exosomes come from mesenchymal stem cells from screened donors. For a fuller answer, read where exosomes come from.

Question 2: How are donors screened?

Ask what screening and testing happens before any donor material is used. At GIOSTAR, we screen every donor before using any tissue.

At GIOSTAR, our team describes the process in plain words and tells you who is responsible for it.

Question 3: What documentation comes with each lot of exosomes?

Ask whether each lot has paperwork, what it covers and whether you can see it. Ask about traceability, meaning whether a lot can be followed back to its source.

At GIOSTAR, bring this question to your visit with your nurse practitioner or ask our patient team at your free consultation.

Question 4: Does the product contain living cells?

Some regenerative products contain living cells, and some do not. Exosome products should not. Ask the provider to confirm, in their own words, what is in the IV.

At GIOSTAR, the exosomes carry no living cells. A sterile salt-water fluid carries them in.

Question 5: Who gives exosome therapy?

Ask who places the IV and who reviews your health history first. At GIOSTAR, a nurse practitioner reviews your history in person before any plan, and our nurse practitioners look after your exosome therapy visits. Dr. Ryan Peterson, our Medical Director, oversees care at the center.

Question 6: What does exosome therapy treatment day look like?

Ask how long it takes, where it happens and what you do while it runs. At GIOSTAR, the IV runs 30 to 60 minutes in a recliner in a private treatment room, and you go home the same day. You can read or work. Our post on how exosome therapy is given walks through the visit.

Question 7: What are the exosome therapy options, and who chooses?

Ask whether there is more than one dose or product, and how the choice is made. At GIOSTAR, there are two: Exosome Wellness, our standard dose, and Exosome High-Dose, a larger dose that we recommend only when your history and goals call for it. Your nurse practitioner recommends one at your visit.

Question 8: When do I get the full exosome therapy total?

Ask for the complete total before you book, and what changes it. At GIOSTAR, the total depends on which option you choose and whether you repeat a dose. Your nurse practitioner gives you the full total at your visit, before you book anything.

Insurance plans generally do not cover exosome therapy, so it is a self-pay service. Cherry offers monthly payment plans for qualified applicants, subject to credit approval.

Question 9: What happens after exosome therapy?

Ask about aftercare, what people commonly notice and who you call with a question. At GIOSTAR, you leave with clear aftercare instructions and our number. Some people run a low-grade fever that fades within 48 hours. Our guide to exosome therapy side effects covers this in detail.

Question 10: How does exosome therapy follow-up work?

Ask when the provider checks in. At GIOSTAR, we check in at 2 weeks and decide together whether to repeat.

How to use this list of exosome therapy questions

Ask every provider the same ten questions, in the same order, and write down the answers. Comparing them side by side takes about ten minutes, and the differences become obvious.

A few habits help:

  • Ask for answers in writing.
  • Ask the same question of each provider in the same words.
  • Take your time. A good provider does not hurry you.

You can also call us at 702.703.5393 and ask all ten, whether or not you plan to book.

What a good answer about an exosome product sounds like

A clear answer names the source, names the person responsible and says what you receive. It also leaves room for your questions. If you want more detail on any answer, ask the question again in different words and our team will go further.

Take your time with the decision. At GIOSTAR, the free consultation exists so you can ask all ten questions before you book anything, with no obligation. Bring a pen, or record the answers on your phone, and compare them afterward at home.
