People who learn about both services often ask the same thing: can you have exosome therapy and stem cell therapy together? At GIOSTAR in Henderson, the answer is often yes, and the plan comes from your nurse practitioner after reviewing your history.
This article explains how the two differ, how they fit together in a plan, and what to ask.
How exosome therapy and stem cell therapy differ
The easiest way to see the difference is to look at what goes into the body.
- Stem cell therapy gives the cells themselves. At GIOSTAR, that means ethically sourced mesenchymal stem cells from screened donors, given by injection into a treatment area or by IV.
- Exosome therapy gives exosomes, the tiny particles cells release to carry signals to other cells. At GIOSTAR, they come from mesenchymal stem cells from screened donors, and they carry no living cells. They are given by IV.
Our guides to what stem cell therapy is and what exosome therapy is cover each service in full.
Exosome therapy and stem cell therapy: two services, two plans
At GIOSTAR, stem cell therapy and exosome therapy are separate services. Each has its own plan, its own treatment day and its own total.
| Stem cell therapy | Exosome therapy | |
|---|---|---|
| What is given | Donor mesenchymal stem cells | Exosomes, with no living cells |
| How | Injection or IV | IV |
| Treatment day | 1 to 2 hours | 30 to 60 minutes |
| Follow-up | 2 weeks, then every 3 months | 2 weeks |
Both are given by a licensed nurse practitioner at our Henderson wellness center, and you go home the same day after either.
Can you have exosome therapy and stem cell therapy together?
Often, yes. Your nurse practitioner spaces your visits and tells you what to pause. Whether it suits you is a question about your own health, answered after reviewing your history, your medications and supplements, and your allergies.
Some providers pair the two services, so you will see the combination offered elsewhere too. What matters for you is the plan built around your goals, and that plan is made in person.
How a combined exosome and stem cell therapy plan comes together
A plan that includes both services follows the same steps as either one alone.
- Free consultation. You talk with our patient team, online, by phone or in person. Tell us you are curious about both, and we explain each.
- Your nurse practitioner visit. In person in Henderson. Bring your medication and supplement list, any allergies and your health history. Your nurse practitioner reviews your goals and recommends a plan.
- Scheduling. If the plan includes both services, your nurse practitioner spaces the visits and tells you what to pause.
- Treatment days. Each service has its own treatment day, in a private room.
- Follow-up. We check in at 2 weeks, and for stem cell therapy every 3 months after that, and adjust the plan with you.
What each exosome and stem cell treatment day looks like
On a stem cell therapy day, plan for 1 to 2 hours with us, by injection or IV. On IV plans, we add a small draw of your own blood to the cells shortly before your IV starts. You can usually drive yourself home.
On an exosome therapy day, a small IV goes into your arm, and a sterile salt-water fluid carries the exosomes in over 30 to 60 minutes while you sit in a recliner. Exosomes differ from stem cells in what they carry and how each is given, and knowing the distinction helps you understand exosome and stem cell therapy differences.
Most people describe a needle stick and brief pressure for either. Our post on how exosome therapy is given covers the exosome IV in more detail.
The total for exosome therapy and stem cell therapy
Each service has its own total, and your nurse practitioner gives you each one before you book.
What decides the stem cell therapy total: the number of treatment areas, injection or IV, and a single or repeat dose. What decides the exosome therapy total: Exosome Wellness or Exosome High-Dose, and whether you repeat a dose.
Insurance plans generally do not cover either service, so GIOSTAR offers both as self-pay, with monthly payment plans through Cherry for qualified applicants.
Questions to bring to your exosome and stem cell therapy consultation
- Which of the two services does my nurse practitioner recommend, and why?
- If both, how far apart are the visits?
- Which medications or supplements do I pause, and for how long?
- What is the full total for each service?
- When are the follow-ups?
What to expect at the exosome and stem cell therapy follow-up
Whichever services you choose, the 2-week check-in is where the plan gets adjusted. We ask how you are doing and decide together whether to repeat. If you have had both services, your nurse practitioner reviews each one on its own terms, then talks through what comes next.
You are in charge of the pace. Some people start with one service and decide about the second later, and some plan both from the start. Either path is fine, and neither requires a decision on the day of your consultation.
