Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is testosterone therapy prescribed by a nurse practitioner when your labs and history point to a fit. It comes as a monthly membership at GIOSTAR, with check-ins and lab monitoring built in.

Guidelines call for two early-morning blood draws plus a review of how you feel. Blood counts and PSA are on the baseline panel too.
A dose fitted to you
Most men use a weekly or every-other-week injection, learned in one short training visit and given at home. At your visit, your nurse practitioner talks through your options.
Labs that steer the dose
We recheck testosterone, hematocrit and PSA on a set schedule, and we aim your dose at the middle of the normal range. If hematocrit passes 54%, we pause or adjust your dose.

- Next, meet your nurse practitioner in person at our Henderson wellness center. Bring your medication and supplement list and your health history, and tell us if you plan to have children. At that visit, your nurse practitioner reviews your goals, confirms whether you're a candidate and gives you the full total before you book.
- Lab work
- GIOSTAR orders your baseline panel, and you book a morning draw at a Quest location near you. Fast 8 to 12 hours, drinking plain water only, and keep taking prescribed medicines unless your provider says otherwise. Pause biotin, found in many hair, skin and nail supplements, for 72 hours before your draw unless your provider tells you otherwise, because it can skew some results. - Your plan and first injection
- A prescription follows only if your labs and history confirm testosterone fits. Before your first home dose, a nurse trains you on your injection, and each injection takes about a minute, and your nurse practitioner talks through your options if you'd rather not self-inject.
- Follow-up
- Recheck labs come within about 3 months. Expect a PSA recheck 3 to 12 months after you start. Once your dose is stable, checks move to a routine schedule, and your nurse practitioner reviews blood pressure at every check-in. Questions at any point, call us at 702.703.5393.
