Active adults in Las Vegas who search for peptides for recovery are asking a plain question: how does a peptide program work, and who is in charge of it?
This article answers that question about the GIOSTAR program. It explains the steps, who does what and where recovery fits in as a goal a plan is built around. It describes the program, not any single compound.
What a peptide program for active adults at GIOSTAR is
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. A peptide program is a provider-led plan that uses a custom protocol. At GIOSTAR, the Peptide Optimization Membership has four parts.
- Bloodwork first. The plan starts with your labs.
- A provider chooses and doses. A provider sets your custom protocol after reviewing your bloodwork.
- A licensed pharmacy supplies it. Your medication comes from a licensed pharmacy.
- Training. Our team trains you to give your own injections.
Our guide to what peptide therapy is covers the category in more detail.
How recovery fits a GIOSTAR peptide program
Staying active is a goal a plan is built around. Many active adults play pickleball and golf, hike Red Rock or lift. They want to keep doing it, and they want a plan with a provider in charge rather than a guess.
We build a plan with you around your goals, your schedule and your bloodwork, and a provider decides what belongs in it. Peptides can be one track among others, such as IV infusions or hormone support, matched to your labs.
Why bloodwork comes first in a peptide recovery plan
Your protocol is chosen and dosed after bloodwork. The Diagnostic Lab Panel covers hormone, metabolic and biomarker bloodwork, with 100+ biomarkers from one morning draw at a Quest location near you. Results come back in about a week, and a nurse practitioner reviews every marker with you. Bloodwork is a paid service and never free, and we confirm your total before you book.
Our guide to what a full-body blood panel measures lists the markers, and how to prepare for a blood test covers the morning of the draw.
How the peptide program visit sequence works
- Free initial visit. You meet a nurse practitioner, review your history and goals and talk through whether bloodwork makes sense.
- Bloodwork. One morning draw at Quest, with results reviewed with you.
- Provider plan. A provider chooses and dose-sets your protocol based on your labs.
- Pharmacy supply. A licensed pharmacy fills your medication.
- Training. Our team trains you to give your own injections.
- Ongoing review. You stay in touch with your provider as your plan continues.

Who oversees a GIOSTAR peptide program
Your care is led by a nurse practitioner and a provider. Dr. Ryan Peterson, our Medical Director, oversees care at the center. You are not left with a bottle and a sheet of instructions; you have a team to check in with.
Tell your provider about your full history and every medication and supplement you take. If you compete in a tested sport, check with your governing body before any treatment. Athletes subject to drug testing should confirm with their governing body first.
Peptide recovery options inside the larger GIOSTAR plan
Peptides are one path. The Recovery Membership includes monthly IV infusion credits, a discount on additional IVs and biomarker testing. The Concierge Longevity Program includes monthly IV credits, quarterly comprehensive biomarker panels and a provider-curated bundle of tracks from peptide, hormone or weight management. Questions to bring to a peptide consultation about recovery
A good consultation is a two-way conversation. It helps to come with your own questions and a clear picture of how you live.
- What do you do each week, and what do you want to keep doing?
- What medications and supplements do you take now?
- What would you like your plan to be built around?
- What should you expect at each step, from bloodwork to injection training?
Your nurse practitioner answers in plain words, and nothing is decided until you have the whole picture, including your total. You can also read our list of questions to ask a peptide therapy provider ahead of the visit.
Self-injection training in a GIOSTAR peptide program
Many people feel nervous about the word injection. Training is part of the program for that reason. Before you leave, our team shows you how to give your own injections and answers your questions, so you are comfortable at home. You also have a phone number to call afterward. If a step still feels uncertain, tell your provider and ask for more help.
