A first regenerative medicine consultation is a conversation, not a procedure. You ask questions, we ask about your goals, and you leave knowing the next step and what it would involve. Nothing is started that day.
Here is how the first step works at GIOSTAR in Henderson, who you meet, what to bring, and what to ask.
Step one: a free consultation with our patient team
The first step is a free consultation. You talk with our patient team online, by phone or in person, with no obligation to book anything afterward.
In that conversation, we explain how the service you are curious about works at GIOSTAR, ask what you would like to keep doing, and walk you through each step. If you are not sure which service you want to ask about, that is fine. Regenerative medicine covers stem cell therapy and exosome therapy at our center, and our team can explain both. If you would like background first, read what regenerative medicine is.
When you are ready, the team books your visit with a nurse practitioner.
Step two: meet your nurse practitioner in person
The nurse practitioner visit is in person at our Henderson wellness center. This is the visit where your own health comes into the picture.
Bring three things:
- Your medication and supplement list.
- Any allergies.
- Your health history.
Your nurse practitioner reviews your goals, goes through your history, and confirms whether you are a candidate. If a simpler option suits you better, our team tells you. Questions about your own health get answered here, by a licensed provider, after reviewing your full history.
Dr. Ryan Peterson, our Medical Director, oversees care at the center.
What you can ask at a regenerative medicine consultation
The best consultations are the ones where people arrive with a list. Questions that come up often:
- Who gives the treatment? At GIOSTAR, licensed nurse practitioners.
- Is there surgery? No. Stem cell therapy and exosome therapy at GIOSTAR are given by injection or IV, with no surgery, incisions or general anesthesia.
- Where do the cells or particles come from? Our stem cells are ethically sourced mesenchymal stem cells from screened donors. Exosomes come from mesenchymal stem cells from screened donors, and they carry no living cells.
- How long is a treatment day? For stem cell therapy, 1 to 2 hours. For exosome therapy, an IV of 30 to 60 minutes in a recliner. You go home the same day either way.
- What happens afterward? Written aftercare instructions and a check-in at 2 weeks.
Write your questions down before you come. Add the ones that matter most to your daily life, such as a trip you have planned or a tee time you want to keep.
Lab work, if it adds to your plan
Sometimes a lab panel adds to a plan. If it does for you, GIOSTAR orders it, and you book the blood draw at a nearby Quest location. Results come back in about a week. Not everyone needs one, and your nurse practitioner tells you whether yours would help. For background on what a panel includes, read what a full-body blood panel measures.
What you leave with after a regenerative medicine consultation
By the end of your visit, you know four things:
- Whether your nurse practitioner recommends moving forward.
- Which service and which plan.
- What treatment day looks like.
- The full total, before you book.
The total depends on the service, the number of treatment areas or the dose you choose, and whether you plan a repeat. We give you the number in the room, so you can decide with it in front of you. Insurance plans generally do not cover stem cell therapy or exosome therapy, so GIOSTAR offers them as self-pay services, with monthly payment plans through Cherry for anyone who wants them.
You never have to decide that day. Many people go home, talk it over, and call us when they are ready.
After you book regenerative medicine
Once you book, the rest follows the same path for every service:
- Treatment day. Private room, a nurse practitioner, and the same-day return home.
- Aftercare. Written instructions and our number for any question.
- Follow-up. A check-in at 2 weeks, and for stem cell therapy every 3 months after that, so your plan is adjusted with you.
You can ask the care team anything between visits at 702.703.5393.
Who comes with you to a regenerative medicine consultation
Many people bring a spouse or partner to the consultation, and that works well. In many households one person researches and the other decides, so having both in the conversation saves a second round of questions. If you cannot come in person, the online and phone options carry the same conversation.
There is no script you need to follow. You can start with a single question, such as how long a visit takes or what a typical week after treatment looks like. Our team is glad to start there and work outward.
