If you are searching for hormone treatment, you are probably trying to understand what the process looks like before you pick up the phone. This article walks through the GIOSTAR HRT Membership for women, in the order it happens.

The short version: a nurse practitioner meets you, labs come first, a provider decides whether a prescription fits, and your plan is monitored on a schedule. It is a supervised process, and the rest of this article explains each part. For the program page, see bioidentical hormone replacement therapy in Las Vegas.

What hormone treatment for women means at GIOSTAR

Hormones are chemical messengers released by your glands into the blood. Hormone therapy is a prescribed program that supplies specific hormones as medication, under a licensed provider, with lab work guiding the plan.

The GIOSTAR women's hormone therapy program is built for women in perimenopause and menopause, and it uses bioidentical hormone plans matched to your history and your labs. It is a membership, which means monitoring and check-ins are part of it rather than an extra.

How the HRT Membership starts with a nurse practitioner

Your first step is a free consultation with our patient team, online, by phone or in person. After that, you meet a nurse practitioner at our Henderson wellness center for a free initial visit. They go through your health history, your cycle history, your current medications and what you want to keep doing.

Your nurse practitioner also confirms that your mammogram and other screenings are up to date. That is part of the picture because hormone therapy is a medical decision, and the screening history is part of making it well.

Lab work in hormone treatment for women at GIOSTAR

Labs come first. The Diagnostic Lab Panel covers hormone, metabolic and biomarker bloodwork, 100+ biomarkers in all, from one morning draw at a Quest location near you. Results come back in about a week, and a nurse practitioner reviews every marker with you.

A plan built from your labs starts with where you are, rather than from a template. Your nurse practitioner reads each marker beside your history and your other markers. If you want to know what a panel covers, see what a full-body blood panel measures.

How a provider-supervised HRT plan is chosen

If your history and labs point to a fit, your nurse practitioner prescribes. If they do not, nothing is prescribed. That is how the membership is designed.

When a prescription fits, your provider chooses the form with you, weighing your history and daily routine, and you can change it later. If you still have your uterus, your plan pairs estrogen with progesterone, in line with what The Menopause Society and ACOG advise. Dr. Ryan Peterson, our Medical Director, oversees care.

Ongoing monitoring in the GIOSTAR HRT Membership

Monitoring is the part that makes this a membership. Recheck labs arrive on a schedule, usually about 5 to 8 weeks after you start and then at least yearly, and your nurse practitioner reads new numbers beside old ones. At each check-in the plan can stay as it is, change or pause.

The plan moves in steps, and each step ends with a lab review and a conversation. Your nurse practitioner explains what to expect for your own situation.

What to ask at an HRT Membership visit

It helps to bring questions. A few that women often ask:

  • Which of my labs matter most for my plan?
  • What are the forms of hormone therapy, and how would we choose one?
  • How often will you recheck my labs?
  • What happens if I want to pause?
  • How do I reach the team between visits?

You can also read how hormone therapy works, step by step for the full sequence, which is the same for men and women.

Membership terms and cost for women's hormone therapy

The HRT Membership runs a 3-month minimum, then month to month, and cancelling takes 30 days' notice by phone. The monthly total depends on the hormone, your dose and your lab monitoring, and you get the full total at your free consultation before you book. Memberships are self-pay, and Cherry offers monthly payment plans for qualified applicants.

How women prepare for a GIOSTAR HRT Membership visit

A little preparation makes the first visit easier. Gather the names of your medications and supplements, note the dates of your last mammogram and any other recent screenings, and jot down your cycle history as best you remember it. Write down what you want to keep doing, whether that is travel, training or a busy work calendar, because your plan is built around your life as well as your labs.

It also helps to know that you are never committing to anything at the first call or the first visit. The free consultation is for questions, and the nurse practitioner visit is for history and planning. Decisions about a prescription come after labs, once you and your nurse practitioner have gone through the numbers together. If you decide hormone therapy is not for you, nothing has been started.
